Property Description
Estate Agents write professional property descriptions. However provide them with more details.
You know your property better than anyone else. The more information you provide the more serious buyers you get. It also reduces inappropriate viewings. It saves time for both buyers and sellers
We recommend that you type it out in Word (word processor)
Describe in general the main features of the property.
Area desirable and sought after?
Detached / Semi detached / Terrace
General decorative order
Central heating, double glazing
Any good schools nearby
Close to trains, buses etc
Any original features
Extensions or conservatory etc
North, South, East or West facing
Use a tape measure and measure twice (to make sure) the length and width of all
the bedrooms and reception rooms. List them in order of size
For each room you can mention any special features and include the following
Fitted Wardrobes
Ensuite bathroom
Heating. No of radiators, or electric heating
Fireplace. Real fire, gas
Lighting. Wall, ceiling, table lamps
Windows – double glazed, bay
Doors – French, glass, wood
Flooring – carpet, wood
Points – telephone, television
Fixtures & fittings you are including
Kitchen
You can describe and mention the following
Modern, fully fitted, or functional
Cupboards, storage
Sink
Flooring – tiles, laminate
Lighting – Spot lights, concealed
Breakfast area
Appliances – oven, extractor, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer
Family Bathroom
Describe the bathroom and include the colour and age of the suite, shower details,
tiling (whether fully tiled or part tiled) and lighting
Garden
Front garden and back garden. Describe whether lawn, or flower beds and whether
Any patio.
Outside
Garage and driveway (whether tarmac or paved)
How much parking?
Remember your estate agent will take all the above into account when writing the description for your property.
